==Local List adopted December 2023==
'''[https://www.southwark.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/design-and-conservation/local-list-consultation The council finally in December 2023 adopted its Local List]''' of heritage buildings meriting some protection by a presumption that they will not be demolished. The list included the Old Mill Building (OMB). Not only that but the OMB had the most number of nominations across the whole borough. It had 150 nominations! The Blackpool Road site is, though, scheduled for redevelopment. However the fact that the OMB is on the Local List will mean that the redevelopment has to landscape the building into the redevelopment plans. Many of the nominations of the other heritage buildings in Peckham town centre were also accepted. That is a great result for :* a lot of community action working together across the borough:* first to get the Council to agree in 2018 local elections to include a Local List policy in the Southwark Plan and then * locally working together between Peckham Vision and Peckham Heritage getting local protection for so many town centre buildings, and then
* for Peckham Vision and our long 6 year campaign to get protection for the Old Mill Building. What a slog...

==Local List consultation November 2022==
The Council's long awaited consultation on the nominations for the Local List began in August 2022 and concludes on 30th November 2022. They have listed many buildings and ask for comments on them. They also ask for local people to nominate buildings.
